2.1 Information you provide to us

Account registration: name, email address, phone number, and password when you sign up as a Platform operator (academy owner) or student.
Business information: academy name, logo, billing address, and GST/tax identification number (for invoicing).
Payment information: billing details submitted during subscription or fee payment. Card numbers are processed by our payment processors and are not stored on our servers.
Communications: messages you send us via the contact form, support emails, or in-platform chat.
Content you create: course material, live session recordings, announcements, and other content uploaded to your academy.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps.
Device data: hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
Usage data: features used, session duration, click patterns, and error logs.
Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies for authentication, preference storage, and analytics. See Section 7 for details.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from payment processors (e.g., Razorpay, Cashfree) or authentication providers if you sign in using a third-party account (e.g., Google OAuth).

Academy operators: if you enrol as a student in an academy powered by Pedagio, the academy operator can view your name, email, phone number, course progress, and payment history within their academy.

Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same privacy protections.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. We will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days of a verified request, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g., financial records under the Income Tax Act, 1961 or GST records for 6 years).

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive fields, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Functional: remember your preferences (language, theme, last visited academy).
